If you’d like to geotag your photos but your camera doesn’t have a GPS module, one option is to geotag with Google Location history.
Revise Timestamp
First, revise the EXIF timestamp of your photos if they’re wrong:
exiftool "-AllDates+=3:0:0" -verbose *.JPG
Download Location History
Download your location history from Google Maps Timeline. You have the option to download all the history as a large gpx, or download one day’s history as KML.
If you chose to download Google KML, convert to GPX with gpsbabel or whatever tool you like.
gpsbabel -i kml -f history-04-29-2015.kml -o gpx -F /tmp/history.gpx
Geotagging
To actually do the geotagging, get GpsPhoto:
gpsPhoto.pl --dir=. --gpsfile /tmp/history.gpx --timeoffset=0 --maxtimediff=3400
–timeoffset=25200 if time zone is GMT-7
